Knoll Gardens is known for its extensive range of grasses and perennials which are supplied to customers from all parts of the UK. The 4 acres of gardens act as a showcase for their range of plants and also an experimental ground to better understand how to achieve optimal growing conditions. At Knoll Gardens they do things really professionally and thoughtfully: a quick look at their website reveals a fascinating blog post about raising their plants by propagation and from seed, Included in the post are their thoughts about square versus round pots; square are considered the best because there are no gaps between them meaning more efficient watering and fewer weeds.
I have taken a lot of photos of the garden and must confess I was blown away by it. I'll include them all here and hope to encourage you to visit. In addition to the map, a handout informed the visitor about the garden in June 2026, it's so interesting, I think I'll subscribe to their newsletters.
Round the corner there's a fallen eucalyptus tree which apparently has been there for 10 years

I think this part of the garden where the eucalyptus tree can be found is the Stream Garden
This is the pond in the Dragon Garden
Here's some information about the Gravel Garden, they mention agapanthus, gaura, scabious, nepeta, salvia as suitable perennials. They also say they water them in severely dry periods.
I think this is a general photo of the gravel garden
I took two photos of this eye poppingly bright blue Nepeta Chettle Blue and made a mental note to look for it in the plant sales area.

and another shed looking outside from inside it.
And yes, they did stock the Nepeta which I bought and also a beautiful specimen of Aeonium schwartzkof. Don't I already have that? Yes of course I do, but not as good as theirs.
