Hidcote Manor

Hidcote's Arts and Crafts inspired garden was designed by Major Lawrence Johnston; many of the unusual plants found here were collected by him on his plant collecting trips around the world. The garden surrounds a Cotswold stone house and is comprised of many rooms. When I visited with Sue a couple of weeks ago, the wisteria and tree peonies were perfectly in flower.

Above the wisteria covering one of the many stone walls dividing up the garden

Above a stone ornament very similar to those made by Simon Verity who has a few pieces in the nearby Kiftsgate garden
The alpine bed was beautiful, but there was no key to the plants, and looking it up now, Hidcote Manor alpine bed brings up beds for sale!
The plant below was majestic, but no key to what any of the plants were

I'm ending with another peony and a plea for more information about the plants in the garden.
