Old Town Open Gardens 2023

There was a lot of gardening taking place in the lead up to Old Town Open Gardens this year. After weeks of dry hot weather in the lead up to the event, just beforehand, it rained a bit and so the gardens did not look as parched as they might have done. The weather was lovely, not too hot, but no rain at all here, although Josie on Marlborough Road got a downpour. I was helped by Jane Milner-Barry who was on the gate and Neil Hopkins who made and served cream teas and cakes made by my daughter.

We had 160 visitors in total, and raised £2200 between 10 gardens, some went to Twigs and some to replenish our Old Town Residents Association Community Gardens.

I took a few photos on the day:

Below the empty plates the cakes were on!

Favourite plants among visitors were a tall Eryngium or Sea Holly which is an electric blue colour, a Dierama and Campanula Anna Lodden. If you would like to take part in Old Town Open Gardens 2024, please get in touch.
