Visiting Schrecker Fine Art

A friend of Tim's, Tom Elliott suggested that he might contact Schrecker Fine Art, the fairly recently renovated workshop and gallery space near Shrewsbury to see if Jeremy Schrecker would like to exhibit Tim's work in the gallery. The answer was yes, and so six works were selected and we visited the gallery which is situated at Frank's Barn, Preston on Severn, SY4 4TB, a couple of weeks ago. It's a beautiful part of Shropshire, and well worth using the scenic route home as opposed to the M5, M6, M 54 route we drove on the way there.

Jeremy's work in the gallery can be seen here, although I can't find this stunning piece below listed.

I took photos of Tim's work as we carried it in from the car and leant it against plinths
It's a fascinating place converted only in the last year to gallery space, which you can see here, and a workshop where Jeremy works on his sculptures
And here's 'Napoli' leaning against another plinth
Below Jeremy and Tim discuss the gallery, their work and Shropshire; despite growing up just north of there, in Sale, I don't know much about Shropshire, although it's clear there are lots of delightful villages within the county like Much Wenlock, Atcham and Wroxeter Roman City. There are also apparently more stately homes in Shropshire than any other county, I've just checked and there are 25.
While we were looking round, this particular piece also really drew my attention, among many other's, it's really worth looking at Jeremy's website for more photos of what's available. This piece is called 'Ascending Char' it's patinated bronze and measures 430x117x100mm
Additionally Jeremy makes functional pieces in metalwork, like this window below which is magnificent
The front of the building outside is also very imaginatively presented with metal edged perennial flower beds
and this glorious window framed on either side with climbers and also well complimented by a metal framed pond sunk into the ground, edged with purple Heuchera along the front
I didn't take any photos of the workshop with several pieces in production, and a huge hoist, hopefully next time.
