Upwey Wishing Well Water Gardens

On our last morning of the lovely Dorset break, we were taken to Upwey Wishing Well Water Gardens, a bit of a mouthful of a title, but a glorious place to have lunch and wander round. There are so many wonderful places in the Weymouth/ Dorchester area, it certainly deserves more visits.

The food was delicious, and it's easy to imagine that the water from the well has beneficial properties, it has had royal patronage, and over the years I'm sure people did visit to drink the water, probably not encouraged now. We found a table as near to the water as we could, and then wandered round the gardens.

The river Wey flows through the water gardens and certainly looks very clear
and quite tranquil
around the gardens are plant sale stations which add interest to the gardens
there are the large leaved triffid like plants
and a slightly higher viewing platform
By the time we'd looked round the gardens, the food arrived, apologies for no photos, but it was delicious, and so nice to eat in such lovely surroundings. I'd certainly go there again, it must be a favourite place to go if you live nearby.
