Fishing for the Moon Garden Tidy Up

Regular maintenance is essential to keep community gardens looking good. Last week, Alice was kind enough to come and help with a sweep up and cutting back at Fishing for the Moon garden in Swindon Road. The Alliums are emerging and it couldn't be left any longer. Here are the after photos:

Above the Phlox were cut back and the Bergenias are looking good
Above the steps after a bit of weeding and sweeping
Above we made attempts to cut and pull the dead material from Stipa tennuisima which si looking a bit the worse for wear, although there are some lovely self seeded plants which indicate it's a plant well suited to that situation.
Above there are still some dead leaves to remove from the Stachys, but there's always something to do in a garden, so we left that for another day.
Above the green waste generated which probably could be kept on site, but at the moment is composted in my garden. And while we're thinking of sustainability, I should ask the neighbours adjacent to the site if we could do some rainwater harvesting there.
