Moors Meadow Garden

Not so much a garden, more of an immersive experience. Do visit Moors Meadow garden if in the Herefordshire area; this award winning 7 acre garden breaks the Herefordshire 4 acre rule and makes excellent use of the extra 3 acres. There's a wealth of information on the website about the garden, where it also stresses that visits are by appointment only; I emailed and received a reply very quickly. The garden was recommended by Roger Norman of Ivy Croft who thought we would really enjoy Moors Meadow.

The garden is on a slope, reaching a level area near the end of the garden, although with dense paths through the garden, it's hard to work out where the end of the garden is to be found; somewhere near the pond, I think.
There's a fascinating history of the garden on the website,. Ros Bissel who now runs the garden was brought up at Moors Meadow which her parents bought in 1955 and moved there with their 6 children, Ros being the seventh was born after the move. After her mother, Rosie was left on her own, Ros moved back and the development of the garden began

It's hard to see why I took this photograph, but it shows a bench beside a shed covered in clematis
Above, I loved this combination of colours; I visited on 21 July this year, just past high summer

There's a lovely undercover seating area behind a silvery leaved and flowered Eryngium, a large vegetable garden near the house, and other interesting features. I think it would be well worth booking a guided tour of the garden because I'm sure there's lots we missed on a general tour of the garden.
