Old Town Open Gardens 9 July 2023

What a glorious day to announce that Old Town Open Gardens will take place on Sunday 9 July this year. It's a real treat to look back to photos of last year's event, do have a look here; and makes me think it is well worth holding it again this year. We'll keep the entrance fee at £5, and hope to raise extra funds for charities we're supporting by having cream teas, cakes and plants for sale in some of the gardens.

Nothing stays quite the same, this year we won't have Rose Earle selling tickets from her shop in Newport Street, hopefully we can sell some tickets at Old Town Hardware who are great supporters of Open Gardens. There has been talk of one of our group selling tickets via Eventbrite as well.

I'm announcing the date to encourage you to save it, and think about whether you or anyone else you know might like to open their gardens for charity? It's a really good event to take part in and gives a lot of pleasure to lots of people. I am opening my garden again this year and thinking of adjustments I can make to it; one big challenge has been the arrival of a puppy a couple of days a week. Roxie loves the garden, particularly rushing between plants, so I'm not sure how it will look this year, I'm sure she's still going to be hurtling enthusiastically over the beds by July. Meanwhile there are Cyclamen coum, snowdrops and Hellebores looking wonderful in the morning sun:
