Keeping the same Christmas Tree since 2015

This might seem a slightly spurious post, but in the same way it's nice to keep Christmas decorations from one year to the next, it's also very satisfying to keep a Christmas tree alive for years. Last year, I looked back through Christmas photos and found some dating back to 2015, and wrote about the tree over the years. I replant the tree in the ground after its had a short spell indoors and then dig it up each Christmas. This year the tree had to go into the hall because our new addition to the family, Roxie needs easy access to outside which couldn't have been achieved with the tree in the usual position in the living room. I have a couple of photos of the tree which is now beginning to look quite big:

Tim put one of his ceramic angels on top for me, I can now see what they were intended for
and as a compare and contrast, this is what the tree looked like in 2015:
I was surprised it survived the hot temperatures and drought in the summer, but it's clearly resilient. Watching GW Winter Special part 4 some of it from Great Dixter last Friday evening; Fergus Garrett talked about conifers in pots, I have not managed to keep them alive over the summer in a pot, but he is probably more conscientious about the watering. It's worth clicking on the link to watch the whole programme, there are some excellent contributors to the programme.
