Kennaway House Exhibition

Kennaway House occupies a prominent position very near the Esplanade in Sidmouth, it's impressive both inside and out and has some of the wonderful stained glass in evidence in many old buildings in Sidmouth. I can't find out why there was so much in Sidmouth, and how it has been preserved, The Beach House still has the original glass from 1790.

Tim Carroll had two works in the exhibition at Kennaway House, which hadn't sold, so we went to pick them up on Saturday, in doing so, I took a few photos. I love the appearance of the front of the house, but that's been very well photographed, elsewhere, so I'll start with what I think is a stunning view of the house as you turn to leave:

and here's the exterior view:
On the way down to the cellar gallery, there is another rather gorgeous window
and here are the paintings:
with a view of the gallery walls
and secondly 'Napoli'
Picking the paintings up meant we had a second trip to Sidmouth on a record-breaking weekend for November temperatures, and lots of sunshine. We stayed at The Elizabeth, a very comfortable hotel right on the sea front.
