Clovelly Court Gardens

Our first garden visit from our Bideford Beehives B&B was to Clovelly Court, a surprising gem of a garden adjacent to Clovelly Court and much of it set in a walled garden. The greenhouses are situated along one side of the garden, and house an interesting selection of plants, above is the one housing the succulents and cacti

We also wandered around the grounds of Clovelly Court which are quite extensive with wonderful views
It's taken a while to write this blog up, so the azaleas were just about still our and were a blaze of colour.
I loved this stone bench, set between beds so the outlook form the bench is lawn, giving the gardener a chance to draw breath when sitting down without having to leap up having seen something which needs doing. This must be quite old and still of course in good condition, not like the rickety wooden benches
Here's a view of the stepped greenhouses, on a slight slope
This is a photo of the gatehouse, built in 1901, it has the message: 'Go East, go West, Home's the Best'
On arrival at the gardens, this is a lovely welcome board, necessary because there aren't may gardeners in evidence during your visit.
I loved the colour of this marigold
I'd certainly recommend a visit to this beautiful garden.
