Snakeshead fritillaries at North Meadow are out now

It's Snakeshead fritillary time at North Meadow, Cricklade where approximately 85%  of these plants can be found just north of Cricklade. To get to the huge meadow, go into Cricklade, turn right onto the high street and carry straight on through the village and before you reach the A 419, the field is on your left.

I visited last Tuesday when it was still a bit cold, they were just beginning to come out and will look fantastic now. Here are the photos I took:

I loved those two together,
There are white ones without pigmentation
and the mass of them look great, but hard to see in a photograph
there are also some Marsh marigolds or king cups there which shine out in their brilliant yellowness:
They won't be as splendid as they are now, so do have a look at them soon.
