The stay in Weymouth last weekend for a Rare Plant Fair at Sculpture by the Lakes was a rare treat, we stayed in a B&B by Radipole Lake, managed by the RSPB, a lovely place to wander round the system of footpaths. We watched birds, particularly enjoying birds among the reeds which might have been the Cetti's warbler.
I took a few photos wandering round, above some ducks swimming towards us, we came across a circle of carved animals which was rather nice:
They are quite weather beaten, but still have a charmWe came across this sort of mesh on a bush with caterpillars outside it.And as you would hope, pyramidal
and bee orchids
There's an informative sign by the car park
and a list of birds spotted that dayA lovely place to visit when in Dorset.
