#SixOnSaturday- tall, vigorous and blowsy

Last week the garden had been weeded and tidied before Old Town Open Gardens being held on Sunday 4 July which went really well, with many visitors, maybe 150, we lost count. There were 12 gardens to visit, and some sold teas and plants, and in all £2280 was raised for TWIGS and OTRA Gardens which I thought was stupendous. Lots of people worked really hard to put on a great show for visitors, who in turn obligingly tried to eat as much cake as they could.

Since then, I've been away and left the garden more or less alone, everything seems to have grown tall and a bit floppy when I wasn't watching. I've got quite a bit of cutting back to do, and of course have quite a few plants bought while away from Rumsey gardens to fit in. So what have I chosen for this week's six?

Trifolium rubens red feathers bought 2 years ago is looking really good this year and attracts lots of bees, you can just see a glimpse of Achillea pomegranate bought at the same time and not nearly as vigorous.
Strawberries have been reasonable this year, but quite a few have gone mouldy before ripening, the wild heritage variety one that don't put out runners have been excellent, here are two that have grown joined together.
Above this Monarda 'Jacob Cline' bought a year ago is looking good, I love Monarda but find they can be short lived and don't seem to settle well in my garden.
This is a fantastic plant, Campanula Loddon Anna is fabulous and comes back reliably and strongly every year
I have tried to have lots of Ammi majus this year and succeeded, it's looking great this year
Last but not least, Inula growing between paving slabs on the patio. So this week I've chosen really vigorous plants, and am so late, but will go along to The Propagator now and see what he's chosen this week. If you haven't joined in before, go and have a look at his, and get the #sixonsaturday habit.
