Messums Wiltshire

Messums Wiltshire opened in 2016  in a 14th century barn in Tisbury, a multi-purpose gallery and arts centre created by Johnny Messum. It offers artists and collectors a unique environment to experience creative endeavour across multiple art forms.  It celebrates the best of artists, conceptual craft and the skill of the maker, and is a beautiful place to visit. I went recently to the last week of the Kurt Jackson exhibition, and it prompted me to try and find out a bit more about Messums.
The original Messums was founded by David Messum in 1963, the gallery has been established in Cork Street since 1993, and has played a pivotal role in Cork Street’s long-standing reputation as a centre for the British art trade. Cork Street Is now being re-developed and re-launched to bring exciting new results as the hub of London’s art world, with Messum’s at its heart.
In addition to the London gallery on Cork Street, Messum’s has a sculpture garden at Lord’s Wood in countryside above Marlow, Buckinghamshire, open by appointment, where outdoor exhibitions of sculpture are complemented by a gallery space.
Outside the barns at Messums Wiltshire there are wonderful sculptures, they are simply stunning, but I don't have any information about them, so will just include the photos, enhanced by the blue sky.
My favourite piece is this one below which looks and feels fabulous:
This one below looked a bit like an apple core
and this one is a lying down sculpture
a general view of the tithe barn
Here's Julie stroking another sculpture and wondering if the logs were a sculpture, or just left there
This metal sculpture is amde of 2 separate pieces but as you can see looks like a bird
The barn shop was closed when we visited, so we had a look round Tisbury and found lots of independent, interesting looking shops like Ted Martin Flower shop below. It was just before the 14th of February when we visited, so the heart shaped wreath was appropriate.
Here's a general view of the shop, really lovely displays. Definitely an area to revisit
