New Paintings in the Chapel Gallery

I'm really pleased with the new paintings in the top bar of the Beehive, named the Chapel Gallery by me because the top bar was a former chapel. Landlord of the Beehive, Andy Mercer has kindly allowed me to hang works by local artists up there. They are all for sale, and can be bought by paying at the bar. In the photo below you can see some of the artists taking part in the exhibition, clockwise starting from the left, Sally Taylor, Dona Bradley, Tim Carroll and with her back to us, author Angela Atkinson
We sat around trying to work out how to hang the paintings.
Lynette Thomas has a beautiful dark mosaic piece in the collection, with low light and almost black walls, it was difficult to decide where best to place it. It ended up looking fabulous on the far wall to the left of the light. It's difficult to see the work because of the light conditions, they do look brighter in real life. Below there's a mixed media work by Vicky Silver and on the right flowers by Tim Carroll
Below starting from the top, a work by Sue Bardwell, Dona Bradley, and Town Gardens by Jane Milner-Barry
Lynette's mosaic seen here to the left of the light, Jane Milner-Barry's flowers to the right of the light
and from the left below the light, Deborah Battaglia's painting. Echinacea by Sue Ash and one of Tim Carroll's 100 Views of Swindon paintings of a view just beneath the Beehive. If you click on Sue Ash's name, you are taken to her open studios page and the watercolour of 3 beetroot that I bought from her during open studios.
Above a drawing by Sue Ash, and a mixed media piece by Vicky Silver.
Below 'Amy' by Martin King and a print by Kelly Ishwaro Waldek
Below a mixed media dove by Paula Sullivan, and a bullrush by Sue Ash
Below an enamel by Phyllida Richards and a framed ceramic depicting 4 seasons by Tim Carroll
These gold framed paintings make a wonderful vibrant set, they are by Deborah Battaglia
 and here's a fourth one
And there's a beautiful moth made by Sally Taylor
The photos aren't great, but I'm really pleased with the exhibition!!
