Cassis has four main beaches. The one in the centre of the town , Plage de la Grande Mer, the one we mainly swam in just outside Cassis, Plage du Bestouan, on the west side and two more on the east, Plage du Corton and Plage de l'Arene. The Google map of the area shows the location of the beaches. Plage d'Arene was the only one we hadn't visited, so we had a look, it was practically deserted, very beautiful and quite a long beach, with further beaches that could be reached by more scrambling which we decided against.

The rocks were a bit off putting when considering swimming there, but looked very attractive
If the sun had been shining on the sea, it would have been a wonderful photo, but you get the idea, it was an idyllic spot.
There were agaves all over the place in Cassis, wouldn't it be wonderful to fill the local community gardens with agaves? I have one a bit like that as a house plant, it grows wonderfully well, but isn't frost hardy.

After another active day, we decided to do what we hadn't done all holiday, we sat on the front, beside the harbour and had a drink, and took a selfie.
