The Queen of Herbs

We had such a fantastic day at the Bloom Seminar in Chippenham almost 2 weeks ago, that I must finish posts about it. After lunch may be considered almost as difficult a slot as the before lunch one, because people who have eaten well fall asleep, but not in this case because Jekka McVicar, also known as The Queen of Herbs gave us a whistle stop tour of her career in herb growing, from very modest beginnings to a herb empire. I was fascinated by her story and am keen to visit the herb nursery very soon. Next open days are 5/6 April and 3/4 May.
As you can see, the talk was entitled 'From French Tarragon to Vice President' 1976-2019
I took some photos which I've cropped, and still don't look too good, above a photo of Tumblers Bottom Herb Farm where Jekka lived from 1976-1980
Above a photo of the current herb farm in 2014, below the 2016 Chelsea Flower Show Garden looking fantastic.
 And here's Jekka on stage:
and here being presented with a large bunch of flowers.
 Looking forward to visiting Jekka's
