Rare Plant Fair at Wells

The first Rare Plant Fair organised by the fabulous duo Ian and Teresa Moss was held last Sunday in the grounds of the Bishop's Palace in Wells. It's the first of 13 due to be held this year, if you click on the link you can find out where all the others are being held.
Wells is a long way from Swindon, especially when there are road closures around Bath for a half marathon, but we got there in the end, and found a lovely pub after the plant sale, called the Rose and Crown, and had a welcoming atmosphere.
I'll start with a few photos of the plant sale. I like this one because it shows what the sales are all about, getting a really good look at the plants, and chatting about them with the nursery people who grew them.
Here's a more general view of more stalls:
and the lovely Magnolia was in full bloom
looking round the Bishop's Palace gardens, I took these photos
I like this view of Wells cathedral from the allotments
this was a Magnolia about to flower
 one in full flower
and a view of the ruins at Bishop's Palace with the palnt fair in the foreground:
and a glimpse of the Cathedral:
and of course last but not least, the purchases made:
Among them 2 more Primula to add to the already large collection.
