Plant Fairs at the Coach House

It's the first day of spring today! We have the whole growing season to look forward to, so for gardeners this is a very exciting time of year. Here at home, onion sets and potatoes are still in the house, waiting to go out, and I'm looking at the daily progress made by flowering plants, with Magnolias about to burst their buds. Being something of a plant collector, I also look forward to plant fairs, the first of which was on 8 March in Ampney Crucis at The Coach House it's a great plant sale, set amidst a wonderful garden. The sales are held on Fridays, there are 3 more to come, 26 April, 31 May and 13 September. If you click on the link to the website, you'll also see that they have garden lectures as well.
I arrived a bit late for the first one, but managed a look round the garden and was struck by how many glorious features, apart from the plants there are in the garden. I love the thought that has gone into creating them, and placing them for others to enjoy around the garden. This is possibly my favourite, as you can see, it's a bench made out of stone slabs, covered in moss:
Here are just a few more:
This is part of a water system running through the garden by way of rills
another seating area with two pots either side of the bench
 here's one looking lovely
and then in the vegetable garden, some impressively arranged germinating broad beans
a small arch in the stone wall filled with pots
I would love one of these, a metal small plant pot holder which makes a lovely table centrepiece
In this one, three things come together, slate paving, a copper plant holder and a mixture of narcissi and tulips about to flower
and another delightful seating area in a small garden room off the main garden
In fact there are many garden rooms in the garden, it's so beautifully thought out, and well worth a visit when there's a plant fair.
