Sunrises and sunsets hold a special appeal for me, I think it's so dramatic to see the sun rise and set. From home, I can see sunrises in the winter months, but never sunsets apart from a glow emanating from an extensive sunset. From Kingshill however it's possible to see sunsets in the summer as a fairly regular occurence if it's not too cloudy. I loved this series of photos of a sunset taken one evening a couple of weeks ago.
What I particularly like is when you're not sure if it's going to be fabulous or to become a bit of a disappointment, the first glance at the sky looked fairly promising:
and looked a bit similar here, maybe it was taken at the same time
It's calming down a bit here and could have not been as dramatic as I'd hoped
however, the sky began to light up
and the sunset ended with a glorious rosy hue
until it had almost disappeared.
