Otter Gallery at Chichester University

The Otter Gallery is located in a 96 square metre space in the university’s learning resource centre, on the Bishop Otter campus in central Chichester.
The current exhibition, 'Conflicting views: Pacifist Artists', curated by Visiting Professor, Dr Gill Clarke. An illustrated book written by Dr Clarke accompanies the exhibition.
It's an excellent exhibition with great works of art, some of which belong to Otter collection, started in 1947 by art teacher Sheila McCririck and principal Betty Murray who felt students needed to be able to see great works of art in their college. I couldn't take photos of the exhibition, so took a couple of the gallery:

and the poster advertising the exhibition:
The exhibition runs until 7 October, after which time the gallery space  will become a student careers and employability centre, it's very difficult to see why the Gallery can't remain in the current location, and careers be housed somewhere else.Understandably there have been protests about the closure of this beautiful gallery, the Museums Association has summed up the situation really well.
On their website, the university mentions housing new acquisitions in University House:
'The University of Chichester has over the years been the recipient of a number of generous gifts and bequests, the new exhibition space in University House will showcase the acquisitions and is an exciting new development for the Otter Gallery.'
What isn't clear when you get to the campus is that you can see the exhibition 'Gifted: A Celebration of Recent Acquisitions' in the executive corridor which took some time to find, and from what I could see wasn't signposted. Anyway there's a lovely exhibition. I took some photos, but they're not very good because they're in a corridor and the lighting reflects off the pictures.
The picture above was familiar, I went to listen to Sally Taylor talk about her work at the Rabley Drawing Centre. This one is Confused Head 33, she has used a Posca pen, graphite and found paper on book cover.
I've also hear Sara Lee talking about her work. This is 'Morning Series', a series of woodcuts
There are some beautiful ceramic pieces in the cabinet, and below a recognisable Jennifer McRae. I was with a friend when he bought a painting by the same artist at the auction of Geoffrey Harley's art collection.
If you get the chance, it's certainly worth a trip to the Otter Gallery before 7 October when it closes, unless there's a rethink of the situation. I very much enjoyed seeing the Gifted exhibition, celebrating recent acquisitions, but wonder where the permanent collection will be shown in future?
