Elemental Exhibition at the Oxmarket

The Oxmarket in Chichester is a light, airy space available for hire by artists, the recent group exhibition, Elemental, was a great success in terms of diversity and the number of interesting artists taking part. If you're looking at the Otter gallery, it's worth checking the Oxmarket as well.
You can see a general view of the gallery here, and how well Maureen Brigden's circular pieces have been displayed.
Caroline added: “Maureen Brigden, sculptor, was inspired to create her four clay sculptures by John O’Donoghue’s book The Four Elements, in which he draws on his Celtic roots, observing the rhythmical energy of the world. Sue England, painter/printmaker, makes the connection between her artists’ pigments and the periodic table. Experimenting with colours which she grinds herself, and handmade paper, she has adopted the new, but very ancient, technique of hand-weaving to create her images of the four elements.

The work above is by Linda Nevill, entitled 'Spirit of Gaia'- rising to the call', thye are ink and clay slip on paper.
Above and below, Deborah Richard's work, also seen at Arundel Gallery Trail.
The group is called Artel and comprises 16 people, although maybe they weren't all exhibiting, I htought this was quite an interesting way of introducing them, and all artists had an A4 folded flyer giving some information about them. If you click on the link, there are some photos of the exhibition on Facebook.
