Whichford Pottery

Whichford Pottery has a reputation for making fabulous terracotta pots, and although I've seen them for sale at various places, I was keen to visit the pottery to see their whole range of pots. They are fantastic, and shown off to brilliant effect in their courtyard garden beside the pottery, I love the way you don't see any pots in this  arrangement, although there's a super big one just visible on the left:
This is the view at the entrance, where you can see lots of pots:
More pots arranged together with the massive one in the middle:
I really liked the area outside the shop where there were lots of succulents planted in pots
I really liked this succulent seen below, it has a hint of pink and looked quite vigorous
We'd missed the talk in the morning which was a shame. It's worth looking at their website for events; the next one is a talk by Derry Watkins on 21 July when she'll also be selling plants.
The pottery was started in 1976 according to the website, and if you look at the people who work there, many of them have been there for a long time, although there are also some newcomers.
In addition to a shop selling ceramics and general gift shop things, there's also a great cafe called The Straw Kitchen, having had lunch in Shipston so we could visit a cashpoint, the most I fancied was a piece of a cake with a drink, but the food looked very good.
