Morne Rouge beach and brown pelicans

On our first day in Grenada we'd seen green herons, hummingbirds, Grand Anse beach, fab flowers and then walked to Morne Rouge beach where I was delighted to see brown pelicans flying around a landing stage at the end of the beach. They mostly sat around, with bouts of fishing when they dived vertically into the water, there were wonderful to watch, and were seen almost everywhere we went, but mostly flew around a lot more, or settled on a reef away from the beach.
I was very pleased with that photo above. I'll include a few more, this one below I really like because it includes rather a scenic covered area attached to a small jetty.
The next 3 photos follow a pelican as it considers flying
 going, going
 gone
Here's a view of Morne Rouge beach from above
before going to the beach, we walked along a road to a nature reserve where I saw this delightful bi coloured mimosa
as I walked down the beach, I met someone who'd just caught these fish, and laid them out for me to photograph. There was fish on the menu at almost every place where we ate, delicious.
After swimming in the sea, and generally feeling this was a wonderful place to be, especially since the beach was fantastically clean due to the efforts of people who raked all leaves and plastic up each morning. We were enjoying a peaceful afternoon when Rhum Runner 11 turned up, letting people onto the beach, reading the reviews, everyone seems to think it's a great think to do when on a cruise and docking at St.George's, the capital of Grenada.
People piling off the boat hired beach chairs and bought drinks, and changed the tranquillity of the beach and its general ambience dramatically, although nothing could detract from the thrill of seeing pelicans earlier in the day.
