L'Esterre, Carriacou

After a 2 hour ferry journey from St.George's, we arrived at Hillsborough, the capital of Carriacou, and were met by Linky, who drove us along bumpier and bumpier roads to the place where we were staying along from the village of L'Esterre. I wondered how far from the road we were staying and was reminded that the answer lay in the name of the place we were staying: Seaclusion Suites'
We were staying just down the track from there, in a fabulous apartment below the main house. This is the view from the balcony:
We saw an iguana from the balcony, and elsewhere on Carriacou.
From the house, we were able to go straight down to a beach, or walk along to the track to White Sand Beach and black Sand Beach, and ate at Bob and Marie's beautiful house at Seaclusion Suites down the road. They were extremely helpful and hospitable.
There were Heliconias in the garden
and bananas which were lovely eaten freshly picked.
Below air plants in a tree on the way to the beach.

I wanted to include the view from the balcony as the first photo, so have left the first view of Hillsborough from the ferry for the last photo.
