Grackles at Kayak Cafe and lunch at Bogles

Kayak Cafe and Juice Bar in Hillsborough main street was a great place for breakfast or lunch, the bar appears to be almost over the sea, with lovely blues and greens of sails, sea and sky contrasting beautifully with the tame grackles ready to eat anything they can find, including mustard.
 They are lovely birds to look at, like blackbirds with a very prominently delineated eye, and a strange habit of dipping and fanning their tail when tweeting.

From Hillsborough, Bogles Round House is a 10 minute minibus ride, it has 3 chalet cottages in the grounds of the round house where there's a restaurant. We had hoped to stay there, but there wasn't availability for all 4 days we wanted to stay.
which serves a mouth watering selection of food, below the front of the round house.

From Bogles, heading north, there's a track leading through a forested national park past Anse la Roche beach, it was tempting to go down the path to the beach  from the track, but we decided to see how far north we could get. There were houses at intervals along the track and we saw quite a large grey iguana.
Most of the tropical rainforest trees on Carriacou have been destroyed by the activities of colonialists who cleared the trees for sugar cane, and latterly by hurricanes which flattened many of the forests. This was one particularly beautiful old tree:
