Beautiful Batsford

Batsford Arboretum is one of my favourite places to see Magnolias, Japanese flowering cherries and autumn colour, but I haven't been to see the snowdrops before. It's a spectacular 56 acres of gardens, and of course they'd make a good display whatever the season.
I was particularly impressed by the large Magnolia buds of 'Caerhays Belle', these were probably the largest and looked spectacular:
here are some other things which were impressive, Cyclamen among snowdrops on the path form the reception area:
There's quite a lot of water running through the gardens:
And I've heard of Daphne bholua 'Jaqueline Postill' but never seen one quite this size and so richly perfumed
 Below, a carpet of snowdrops
And lots of daffs out, seems early
Although this photo is a bit dark, it works for me because of the reflections in the water and the rather nice silhouettes of the trees.
 more carpets of snowdrops

 and trees and blue sky
Good to be up to date with blog posts before hols. Next post will be adventures in Grenada and Carriacou in a couple of week's time.
