When Caroline Day offered me a ride to Stonehenge to keep her company while she delivered pictures to the shop, I was pleased to accept. The chances were it could be raining and dull, it wasn't, turned out to be a perfect day. It was perfect, Stonehenge on a sunny late January day takes a lot of beating. I took some photos of Stonehenge and Caroline in the shop.
You can take a bus ride to the stones and get very close to them, the atmosphere is tremendous. I think the photo above is the best one I took, I'll choose my 4 favourite photos of Stonehenge, and then go into the shop with Caroline.
This one was the first view from the road, it's a bit low resolution, but I like the colours.
After the stones we went into the shop where Caroline delivered her pictures and I took a few photos of her with some of her prints:
and 'Caroline's corner' in the shop
there are a couple of pictures in the window as well, hard to photograph because of window reflections despite Caroline trying to block out the light with her coat!
This is slightly less filled with reflections.
I had a look around the visitor centre where there were lots of children, I took one photograph inside, although I was very impressed with the case comparing the foods eaten over the years with what we eat now. I did like this large plaque, I think it says it all.
There are 5 neolithic houses one of which was being rethatched, so was fenced off
And inside the neolithic house:
Brilliant visit, I haven't taken photos of the impressive visitor centre, but as far as I'm concerned, the stones are the point of going there and they are worth contemplating at length.

The one below is taken into the sun, I quite like that effect as well.
