Polignano to Monopoli along the Coast

Could we do it, or couldn't we? We didn't want to walk along the road, and stayed along the coast as long as we could do so. In fact we managed to get almost to Monpoli, but had to give up near the boatyard are when the coastline became very rocky and had a depressing amount of plastic rubbish to wade through.
Here's a selection of photos of the trip:
It was interesting to be able to look closely at this trulli, most are on private land and can't be looked at properly. Below a detail from the wall
And here's Tim drawing the trulli!
One of the bays on the way

There were a surprising amount of flowers, above Mornign Glory, and below lovely Poppies
This was one of the rather lovely art nouveau buildings in Monopoli
I loved this fantastic door to Chiesa de Purgatorio, like many churches in the area, it was closed
We stopped at a cafe near the castle
with this view through an archway
and then caught the train back to Polignano thinking how wonderful it would be if there was a defined path along the coast, if plastic litter was collected and more people wanted to walk along by the sea. On the other hand for much of the year it's probably too hot to walk, and at least there's a really good hourly train service.
