Islands to the North of Sardinia

The trip to Sardinia had been fantastic so far, staying on Alghero and Cagliari, on the sixth day, we traveled the length of the island to Palau and from there caught the ferry to La Maddelena, where we stayed in a small complex of 10 chalet type places with their own beach at Marginetto
It's very peaceful and beautiful and wonderfully relaxing.
Our first sighting of La Maddalena:
'Our' beach, pretty amazing after a day on the road
Just over the rocks from the beach, we got a great view of the sunset:
 5 minutes later
The next day we drove across the 600m road bridge, built in 1891, from La Maddalena to Caprera, an island which has been protected from development, apart from Garibaldi's house and a couple of self contained tourist complexes, consists mainly of woods and rocky scrub. We parked within sight of Garibaldi's house and walked for 45 minutes across rocky terrain, sometimes quite steep and hazardous to a beautiful beach, the popular Cala Coticcio seen below
It was busy until about 4pm, and then much quieter, the perfect pace to swim in the sea
From above on the way out, you can see the crystal clear water.
On the final day, we went to Punta Tegge where there are lots of low, flat rocks over a large are, perfect for sliding into the water

The last afternoon was spent on our beach where the sea was lovely and warm
And the final sunset of the holiday over the small harbour round the corner from where we stayed
On the final day, we took the car back. I realsied thta although Ali had taken a few photos of us in the car, I hadn't taken any of the car, so here it is.
Fab holiday.
