Cup Cake Planters in Town Centre

You may have noticed the five or maybe six huge concrete planters in the Town Centre in front of the Central Library, Rudi's, the Chinese restaurant and Meca; they were possibly placed, filled with compost, weed suppressing membrane and a lovely selection of perennials in 2018. They survived the drought last summer and extremes of cold this last winter, and still have some healthy plants in them. The issue is that they have not been maintained, maybe not touched since they were planted. Our Bloom entry in South Swindon has made me more sensitive than ever to greenery in the town environment. With a small amount of effort, these planters could look tremendous. I have spent a couple of hours a couple of weeks ago weeding three of the planters, and will return with Barbara who kindly agreed to help, next Tuesday afternoon. The manager of Rudi's Bar agreed to help us improve the planters which was very kind; we need more compost and some more perennials to go in there.

I have taken some before and after photos, but it's hard to appreciate how much better they look:

Above 'before' and 'below' after with a few violas as well
And that's an 'after' in front of the library
I thought I'd check out where you can buy these sort of planters, and I can't find anything like them. Looking forward to carrying on improving their appearance.
