Stowe

On the way back from MK Gallery in Milton Keynes, there was time to sample a rural idyll, set in beautiful countryside, Stowe is a National Trust garden or rather grounds set in glorious rolling countryside near Buckingham, famed for its Georgian features like this Palladian bridge seen below.

I was initially disappointed that 'garden' meant parkland and features rather than plants! But once I got the hang of that, it was a really enjoyable experience, I'd like to go back and have another look at the house, seen below. Part of it is Stowe School, the rest is open to the public sometimes.

There's a waterfall feature seen with an urn
and more of a close up of the waterfall, with a look out arch giving a vista of the lake
here's another view of the bridge
We didn't manage to go and see the Gothic temple at Stowe up close, it's a rather wonderful looking building from a distance. It's also possible to stay in it.
Below here's another view of the Palladian bridge
I will return before long and have a proper look at Stowe, it deserves a day out there, rather than a rush round before it got dark!
