Parish Councillors Say Goodbye to Rob Core, CEO

Last night we said goodbye to Rob Core in a socially distanced way at the Marriott Hotel, at his last full council meeting of South Swindon Parish Council, also known as Central South Swindon Parish Council. Rob Core has done a wonderful job as Chief Executive Officer over the two and a half years, with a wealth of experience and expertise, Rob was always able to give wise counsel. It has been a pleasure to know him, and last night we wished him the very best in his retirement in the Limoges region of France.

We bought him a spade and fork for his new life, although he did talk a lot about rewilding and looking across the valley at the views, I hope maybe he'll just hang them up in the barn. Vince Ayris kindly engraved the spade for us making the gift that much more special. Here's Rob with the spade:

And here's Chris Watts, Chair of SSPC handing over the spade:
Flanked by Janine Howarth on the right who is about to give him a copy of John Stooke's latest book about the work of artist Frank Quinton.
We are very fortunate that Jake Mee has now taken over as Chief Executive Officer, with Matt Leather as Communications and Events Manager. And we all repeated our good wishes at the end of the evening.
