Community Gardens 2 Corner Garden

 This was actually our first garden, the development of it can be seen by looking at the old OTRA website from when it was called Pipers Area Resident's Association.It's worth looking here to see what the gardens were like before work began on them. In fact the whole website gives an interesting background to what we have been doing, there are many familiar faces in the photos.

This garden on the corner of Newport St and Devizes Road, suffers because it's under the weeping silver birch and so tends to get very dry, however thanks to the great planting ideas from Peter Biggs at Wanborough Herb Nursery, it always looks very good I think. The grass Stipa tenuissima is perfect for that position. Here are a few photos I took of the garden in sunlight yesterday:

This one is approaching from the Arts Centre, it shows the box balls rather well, but what colour should the bin be painted? Yellow isn't too good.
