Bluebells in The Great Copse

Certain times of year become memorable for various different reasons, I think this time of year, springtime of 2020, will always be remembered for the heightened feeling engendered by even the smallest activities. Lockdown has brought a narrowing of experiences, but also an enriching of those things we can do, like daily exercise, as we focus more thoroughly on everything. I was keen last weekend to walk through The Great Copse when I thought the bluebells might be at their peak, and hopefully with sun shining through. Bluebells always hold a special significance for me because Tim and I had our first date looking at bluebells in West Woods near Marlborough where supposedly they are better than anywhere else. I don't know about that, 28 years on, the bluebells looked pretty good in The Great Copse.
Whereas The Great Copse is round the corner, West Woods is mostly only accessible by car, so there's a notice on their website asking you to stay at home and not visit any forests to avoid spreading Covid-19. We're lucky then that The Great Copse is on our doorstep,
So here's what the 2020 lockdown bluebells looked like:
I think though I'll start with a close up which shows the fantastic blue and green colours together
I've taken quite a few photos, but many don't really convey the zinginess of the first photo
I do like them with trees and some sky included, I like the one below because it included the fantastic lime green of newly opened leaves
the one below shows masses of bluebells, not looking wildly impressive
I like the one below, for the combination of bluebells, trees and blue sky
 these look quite good
maybe a bit washed out looking? The trees look good though
and this is the open clearing where the bluebells did look fantastic.
There's some information on The Great Copse here, but not much.
